9:42 AM. What a start to the cross country trip!
In the last twelve hours, I’ve comforted the Empress twice due to undisclosed but clearly terrifying dreams; stared at the ceiling; listened to the dogs snuffle in their sleep; written and delivered an 8-page memo of assignments to my team (literally, they asked for it); and read a whole bunch of market research. Oh, and I also had coffee and got the kids breakfast – after that I ignored them while a very patient, hungry Kelly (food poisoning – a new cleanse?) got them out of the house for their last morning of camp before we get on the road.
Now I am at the car wash.
Probably don’t need any more coffee. I’ve already honked loudly at an elderly couple because they stopped in the middle of the drive-thru to let the wife out to go to Bev-Mo!.
Beautiful, sunny day for a drive. And for at least an hour’s worth of packing.
